Incredible Hulk

Recommended Posts

As we know the old adage of "the angrier the Hulk becomes, the stronger he becomes" is quite true, and therefore it prompted this question from one of the question sites I am on.

Quote

Hi, I want to know what would happen if the Hulk was electrocuted. Would he die, would he become incredibly intelligent or, as I fantaise about, become the most muscular man on the planet?

I replied that most people would agree that he was the most muscular man already, but that I could not answer the man question but would consult with experts, so here's your chance to shine, what would happen if the Hulk was electrocuted (i.e Banner get sent to the electric chair or the Hulk is struck by lighting)?

I would think that the electricity would make the gamma rays more reactive which means that the Hulk would likely be unable to control his rage. He would likely grow until he is unable to breathe anymore. :)

The whole point is is that the angrier the Hulk becomes the stronger (and in some of the story lines as they used to portray - the bigger) he becomes.  In the case of a bolt of lighting striking him, I do not think it'd be that big of a deal.  It is a one time thing, unless Banner is placed on a mountain top during a thunderstorm with lightning rods all around him or a cage made of them so he could keep getting zapped.  So for a lightning strike I would say, it would be one of the gamma rays triggered by the saving life response kicking in with the amount of pain he'd be in and the lightning originally striking his "human" form.  Probably regular Hulk size.

As for an electric cage, chair, or cables, attached to him, the fear/anger response would kick in followed by a continual stream of electricity coursing to and through him, which of course is going to amp up the pain/anger or both.  In that case I would imagine there would be several spurts of growth happening until he could bust his way out of the chair, cage, or pull the cables out so he'd stop being electrocuted.  If it's a regular chair, or iron cage, or regular cables, it wouldn't tale that much or long for him to burst free.  However, if they managed to make said items with things like adamantium or vibranium, then he's in something that's going to last a while with quite a few growth spurts.  In which case his body would adapt and grow until he was probably a 100 foot giant due to how pissed he's going to be dealing with pain.  Just my thoughts.
