I write best when I place myself in the main character's shoes.  And I don't sit down with an outline or notes or anything of the sort for writing... I just let my imagination go and I write what I'm imagining.  And then I write what I'd be thinking or saying if I were in these situations.

I've always been a better writer when I just wing it.  Planning and outlining things just make everything so... boring, I guess.

I’m much the same - I prefer to just let my thoughts, and hence the writing, flow. I often find that works better for me than any meticulous plan!
