Here is a story I've been working on for some time.  If you like it I can continue it.

Ok, I removed the text file and posted the story below in a more formatted scheme.  Check it out by scrolling down. Sorry it is so long, I kept writing and changing until I was more happy with it.

I'm sure it's great but, sorry, I don't have time for unformatted text files! If you decide to re-post it to the Forum with line / paragraph breaks I'll probably read it.

I spent 4 hours trying to copy/paste from the word file I had and the forum wouldn't accept it.

I then tried to upload the file as a word document nicely formatted, "Not allowed".

I changed it to a text file and that was the only way I could attach.

I wasn't about to retype 29 pages of text individually.

Perhaps I'm doing something incorrect and you could enlighten me so I can fix it.

You might want to break it into smaller chapters and re-post it in sections? Let me know if that worked or not. If not, then I might try to post it for you.

College Hulk

Steve drove carelessly down the highway.  It was late and he didn’t care.

Being in his junior year at State he could see the light at the end of the tunnel.  He was in a great frat house with his best friend, Jonas.  His grades were outstanding.  He had two scholarships and a grant that reduced his tuition to nearly nothing.

So Steve was carefree in his late night escapade.  He was heading back to the school after a great weekend.  He had spent time in the mountains hiking and exploring.  He was in the best shape of his life, playing lacrosse and working out.

Then it happened.

At the time it seemed to occur in slow motion.  There was a loud bang from somewhere under the car.  It felt like someone had jerked the steering wheel away from him, not that he was holding it properly to begin with, but the car lurched off the road and hit the curb then flipped through the air. The airbags deployed and enveloped him but that hurt almost as bad as the impact.  The last thing he remembered was being upside down and surrounded by bags while realizing he was losing consciousness.

What seemed like a few minutes later, Steve opened his eyes and realized he was still stuck in the car, upside down.  He wrestled with the seatbelt and dropped to the crushed roof of the car.  Pushing aside the deflated airbags he pushed through the shattered front windshield and climbed clear of the wreck.

“Damn.”

He checked himself over and felt bruised but otherwise gave himself thumbs up in the injury department.  All the sports and athletics paid off.  He was worried about a concussion, however.  He groped in his pocket for his phone and couldn’t find it.  He started kicking around the edge of the car and then saw it, or what was left of it.  Fallen and crushed under the back end of the car.

“Damn.”

No way to call for help.  Still 15 miles from school.  Now what?

He saw a flash of light further off the road.  He made his way in that direction and soon came upon an older looking structure.  Kind of like the old army buildings from the 1950s.

A chill ran down his spine but he shook it off.

“Maybe they have a phone in there that still works. Why the hell am I talking to myself out here?”

He shook his head and walked towards the building.  A broken light was over the door which was unlocked and he let himself in.  Sure enough the place appeared like an old office from a 1950 movie.  There was a desk and a lamp and a phone.  It was all under a cover of dust.

He walked over to the phone and lifted the hand set expecting silence, but was pleasantly surprised to hear a dial tone.

The phone was a rotary phone and he fumbled with the dial for a moment then tried the familiar 9-1-1.

The phone clicked merrily in his ear as the dial turned then waited, and then went to a female voice which said, “If you would like to make a call, please replace the receiver and try again.  This is a recording”

He looked at the phone quizzically and reset the handset and dialed 9-1-1 again.  Same result.

After a quick sigh, he tried 0.  To his relief the phone gave a ring indication.

After a moment a woman answered the other end, “Lake Ridge operator, how may I help you?”

“Uh…yeah…my car went off the road near here.  I think it was a blow out.  I need a tow truck and some assistance.”

“I can connect you to the sheriff if you would like.”

“Uh…ok…”

“Hold on one moment”

There was a brief pause then a gruff voice answered, “Sheriff’s office”

“Yes, I went off the road near here…highway 71…and I need some assistance.  I think I had a blowout.”

“Did you say highway 71?”

“Yes.  I’m in some kind of old bunker.  My phone was broken in the accident so I came here to use the phone which works surprisingly.”

“Is this some kind of a joke?”

“Uh…no…I’m pretty bruised up and could use a paramedic actually if there is one.”

Steve was starting to feel the injuries from his accident and it wasn’t fun, plus it was now getting on 3 AM and he was tired.

“Kid there ain’t no highway 71 anywhere near Lake Ridge. You sure you got the right number?”

“I dialed 0 because your damn 9-1-1 doesn’t work.  The operator transferred me.”

“You must be from California with all your fancy talk about 91 or whatever that is and some highway 71.  I will grant that you probably hit your head pretty damn hard in your accident.  But if you are in that army barracks you are trespassing on government property and the master sergeant won’t take kindly …”

“What are you talking about trespassing? This place looks like it hasn’t been used in 50 years.  I need some help and I’m trying to be polite, but you are really pushing…”

Just then the door slammed open behind Steve making his heart jump up in his throat and he dropped the phone.

“YOU ARE TESPASSING ON GOVERNMENT PROPERTY!”

The door light was no longer broken but shining like it was brand new on a tall thickly built man in army fatigues.  Steve glanced quickly around and realized the dust had vanished on the desk as well.

“I’m…I’m….sorry. I was in an accident and needed to use the phone.”

“How the hell did you get past my guards?”

“I didn’t see any….I mean….”

The sergeant pushed his way into the office and picked up the phone slamming it back on the desk.  Steve was pretty sure the sheriff would get the idea and was not going to be much help.

“The way you’re dressed you must be one of those fancy boys from California.”

Steve could only stammer.”N..no…I’m from…”

“Doesn’t matter.  What matters is how I should deal with you.  Well if you were in an accident maybe you do need some help.  I’m not heartless.  Where did you say your car was?”

“Up by highway 71”

“Where?”

“Highway 71”

“I don’t know any highway 71.  You sure you got that street right?”

“I think…I think I might be losing my mind.”

“You better sit down, boy.  You don’t look so good.  Let me get someone in here to help. “

The man turned towards another door and yelled, “Higgins!  Get a gurney and get in here.”

A few moments later a younger man rolled a metal gurney into the room and waited expectantly for the sergeant.

“Higgins, this here is…uh…I don’t believe I caught your name, boy.”

“Steve.  Steve Henry and I…”

“Well, Steve Henry, this is Private Higgins and I’m Master Sergeant Davis.  The private will take you to medical for evaluation.”

“Thank you, but I really just need some aspirin and some help getting my car towed.”

“What kind of car is it?”

“A blue Toyota Corolla 2010”

The Sergeant looked at the private who shrugged and then back at Steve, “What did you say?”

“A blue Toyota Corolla, it’s a 2010 model”

Private Higgins spoke up, “He’s talking about that Japanese company that almost went broke a couple of years ago.  I think they make something called a Crown, but you don’t see many of those”

“Is that what you meant, boy?  A Crown?”

“No.  it’s a Corolla.  I bought it new about 4 years ago.”

“Higgins, call the watch and have them search the woods on the north side of the base for a blue car that might be wrecked and looks Japanese, though why anyone would buy Japanese if they were a true blood American…”  Sergeant Davis shook his head.

“What’s that supposed to mean? “

“Do you know what they did to our POWs, son?  Torture and cruelty.  That’s what! But maybe you just hit your head too hard.  Higgins, when you finish the call, take Mr. Henry to medical and check for a concussion.  Use the new machine to evaluate and see if he checks out. I’ll be there shortly.”

Steve started to speak up as the gurney was wheeled around a corner.

That’s when Steve saw the calendar on the wall with a date circled.  Sergeant Davis retirement: December 12, 1958.

His throat went dry.

He was wheeled through a set of security doors into a room with a large device with a metal door in the front.

Higgins got out a stethoscope and some other instruments and began to take blood pressure, temperature and other assorted vital signs.

A few moments later, Sergeant Davis came into medical.

“The men searched all over the hill side for a car, wrecked or otherwise, and found nothing.  I don’t like being lied to, son.  Whatever game you are playing, you need to stop. Higgins, does he meet the criteria?”

“He seems healthy enough.  Should we do this to a civilian?”

“Of course.  It doesn’t hurt anyone, just a good way to evaluate.  You saw what happened when we tested it on the dog.”

“But, Sergeant, a dog is very different from a human.  And you heard what happened the night the dog got cornered by the coyote in the woods.”

“The watch had too much to drink, Private, and you shouldn’t be listening to old tales anyway.”

“Sir, I know that watchman.  He’s a good Christian and he doesn’t drink a lick.  He swore that he heard a noise and went to find the source.  He says he saw the dog cornered by 3 coyotes. He was going to fire his gun to frighten them off but suddenly the dog ‘s frightened whimpers changed to menace and he seemed to…”

“Private Higgins! That is enough talk. Kindly take Mr. Davis into the test chamber and run the evaluation.  We will keep him under observation for a few days and ensure that he is healthy before we let him go home.  Is there anyone we should contact for you?”

Steve looked genuinely frightened.  “Uh maybe call my friend, Jonas.  He can get in touch with my parents if necessary. “

The Sergeant got a paper and pencil and wrote down Jonas number.  He left for a few minutes.

Steve looked at Higgins, “You aren’t really going to put me in there are you?”

Higgins looked uncomfortable, “You heard the Sergeant, he says everything will be ok and it….will”

“You don’t sound convinced yourself.   You know that isn’t true.  I can tell you think something happened to that dog.   What happened?  Did it die of cancer or something?  I’m only 23 years old, I don’t want to die of cancer or anything.”

“No..It didn’t die.  It seems fine.  We’ve watched it for a few more days but I took it home last week.  Sergeant doesn’t know, yet.  My daughter has wanted a dog for years and the army was going to put it down to cover up the…”

Sergeant Davis came back into the room.  “I tried to call your friend, but obviously he doesn’t pay his phone bills because all I got was a recording saying the number was not in service.”

“What?  Tell me, really, is it 1958?”

Both men stared at Steve. “Private, I thought you said he was healthy!”

“I did check him out.  Everything seems good and normal.”

“Yes, son, the year is 1958!  You are in the United States of America and General Dwight D Eisenhower is the President of the United States and YOU are going into that chamber so we can do a THOROUGH evaluation!  Enough talking!   Private, get started.  Is that clear?”

Higgins unlocked the door and Steve, strapped to the gurney, was wheeled inside.

“No, please don’t do this.  Higgins, let me up off this gurney.”

The Private ignored his pleas and pushed him into the chamber on the gurney and locked the door.

Inside, Steve could see the whole place was lined with lead and there was a sign indicating radioactive material was contained in there.

From outside, Steve heard muffled voices then the lights dimmed and a sound like old transistors warming up.  Soon the light intensified.

Through a window, Steve could see the Private fighting with the Sergeant over something.

The noise in the chamber was getting louder and the light was more intense.  Steve felt his heart racing.

Steve closed his eyes for a moment then heard a banging on the outside of the door.  The Private appeared to be trying to open the door and the Sergeant was nowhere in sight.  Suddenly the light flared.  Steve went blind from the intensity.  Another noise and he felt like he was moving.

Then he heard Higgins voice, “It’s ok.  I got you out.  Stay with me.  Don’t die or anything.  I’m going to be Court Martialed for this, but I don’t really give a damn.  Please stay with me.”

Steve heard the door close again and panicked thinking he was shut in the chamber again.

“Stop struggling you might, ya know…like the dog.”

Very slowly, Steve’s eyes adjusted and he began to make out blurry images.

“Thank God that wasn’t permanent.”

“Can you see now?  Good.  That happened to the dog, too.”

“Yeah, I can make you out now, but don’t ask me to read any eye charts or anything.”  He tried to laugh but it sounded weak.

“Where is Sergeant Davis?”

“I kind of, well, I kind of knocked him out.  I’m in the corps boxing league and I think the Sergeant forgot that.”  This time there was an embarrassed but sincere smile from the Private.

“So tell me, since I’ve already been tested.  What happened to the dog?  Am I a werewolf now or something?”  He gave another weak chuckle.  Only the Private didn’t return the laugh.

“No.  It was like something else.  The watch, Private Flynt, he’s like my best friend and I hate hearing the Sergeant bad mouth him. Anyway, Flynt says the dog seemed to like glow really strangely.  Then it was the coyotes that started whining.  The dog looked like it grew to about twice its size and it tore into them.  Only one coyote got away badly injured.  Flynt kind of freaked but when he got over to the dog, it just appeared normal and tired.  He carried it back here to the base, and now, well my daughter loves that dog.”

“So….kind of like the Hulk?  I may have just become like Bruce Banner? That wouldn’t be too bad.”

“Who is Bruce Banner?”

“Never mind, but watch the comic books in a couple of years.  You’ll find out.”

“You asked us what year it was.  What year did you think it was?”

“2014”

“Holy shit!  Sorry, I don’t usually swear like that, but HOLY SHIT! Are you really from the future?  Do they really live on the moon and stuff and wow, Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon and do cars fly and stuff?”

This time a real laugh, “Slow down, Higgins, no one lives on the moon.  We stopped going there a long time ago.  Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon are still fiction and cars don’t fly except maybe in reference to going 120 in a 70.”

“Stopped going to the moon?!?  You mean you’ve been there?”

“No…no I haven’t been there but some people have.  It’s kind of complicated to explain right now and I just have to figure out how to get back home. God, maybe I will just wake up and this will all have been a bad dream.  Maybe I just hit my head too hard in the accident.”

The door flew open.  Sergeant Davis was there with two MPs standing at his side, a nice shiner on his right eye and he was NOT smiling.

It was about this time that Steve realized that Private Higgins had not unstrapped him from the gurney because they had been too busy talking.

“Higgins you are under arrest for violating the UCMJ, failing to follow a lawful order and assault.  MPS arrest him.  You, Mr. Henry, are going back to finish your treatment.”

“Sarge, I’d leave him alone if I were you.  He already shows symptoms like the dog, and I don’t think he minds too much.”

“Higgins, you are in enough trouble already so keep your mouth shut!”

The MPs placed Higgins into restraints and started to escort him from the room.

The Sergeant went to the door of the chamber and unlocked and opened it.

He returned to the gurney, “I’m going to stay here and ensure you finish this if I have to do it myself.”

He pushed Steve toward the chamber.

“This is madness.  I nearly went blind in there.  Don’t do this to me again.  Higgins help.”

Steve’s heart began to race.  All fantasies of being the Hulk gone from his head replaced by sheer terror at being subject to radiation and blindness again.  This time permanent.

Steve tried to twist free of the bonds causing the gurney to move sideways and slam against the frame of the door.

Higgins was struggling against the MPs who were trying to hold him.

Davis pulled the gurney back to get it through the door.

“Higgins, help me!  Davis, STOP!”

With the last word a powerful sensual rush went through Steve replacing the fear and he heard his own voice drop in pitch.

Higgins yelled, “I warned you Sarge! Just like the dog!”

Steve could only grunt and snort as he felt wave after wave of sensual power and strength wash through him.

Davis stopped pushing and stared at the transformation happening in front of him.

The MPs stopped wrestling with Higgins and turned towards the sounds with their jaws hanging open.

Higgins was the only one who understood.  He saw Steve’s athletic tan deepen and change to a green color.

Davis jerked back as a button snapped him in the face and then two more.  He saw the top of the Steve’s shirt split open to reveal a pair of thick monstrous pectorals pushing against the chest strap which burst apart.

Steve heard more splitting leather and felt his left arm pull free.  He raised it to see the sleeve split apart from a massive bicep shortly his right arm was also free.

He sat up still held by tightening leg straps and his back flared out ripping the back of the shirt apart.

He gasped as he saw his feet burst through his sneakers.

Davis stepped back from the gurney as the leg straps broke and thick tree trunk like thighs split the denim jeans apart.

Steve slowly pushed off of the gurney and stood. He rose to nearly 7 feet tall and over 500 pounds of muscle.  All that was left of his clothing was the waist of his jeans and his torn boxers clinging on for life.

The MPs, already large men, gaped with envy at this enormous creature that a few moments before had been just an average Joe.

Steve felt all the rage of the frustration of the evening well up in him and he tried to speak but all that came out was a tremendous roar that shook the entire room.

Davis fell back against the control panel. “MPs restrain that creature”

The two men looked at each other then rushed forward.

Steve snarled at them and with one hand shoved them both backwards.  The tried to circle around and Steve, not really wanting to hurt anyone except maybe Davis, just shoved them again.  But this time they fell into the chamber.

Higgins tried to talk.

“Steve!  It’s me, Higgins, can you understand me?”

Steve turned towards him and nodded.

Davis saw his chance and rushed at Steve’s back.

Higgins yelled, “Behind you!”

Steve turned and as he did he caught the door of the chamber and it slammed shut, locking the MPs inside.

He picked Davis up and threw him against the wall of the chamber.  Davis slid down but quickly recovered and stood wary.

“Higgins, you are already in enough trouble.  Now you are siding with the enemy”

“Enemy?  You made him!  Now you have to deal with him.  Steve come here and see if you can break these cuffs while you’re still strong”

The MPs were banging on the door trying to get out of the chamber.

Steve lumbered over to Higgins trying to adjust to his new size and reached out easily snapping the chain holding the cuffs together.

Davis quickly made his way to the control panel.

“I may have made this one, which means I can make two more who will fight for the correct side!”

“Sarge, you’re  nuts! This whole process is unpredictable”

Davis hit some switches and the strange sounds from before began.

The MPS started banging more furiously in panic on the walls.

Steve turned towards the chamber intending to help them, but suddenly came the blinding flash in there.

The pounding inside stopped momentarily.  The whirring began again this time louder.

Davis snarled, “This is the last part which will either kill them or…”

The pounding started again along with shrieks and pleas.

Steve moved towards the door to try to rip it open.

Then  one of the MPs glared through the window as his eyes turned white and his face began to turn green.

He staggered back and they could see the same thing happen to the other one who turned away and shuddered bringing his fists up to his face and as he did so his back flared out splitting the shirt he wore down the middle.

The first MP faced his friend and rolled his head back as his chest swelled out bursting the front of his shirt open.

He lowered his head in time to see the back of the other MPs pants tear open as thick glutes swelled out as if he had been doing squats for years.

The rest of the room watched and Steve began to feel strange.  He reached for the door to let them out when Davis yelled, “No! Don’t open it.”

But the door flew backwards as both of the MPs hit it and sent it flying into the room.  The door sailed through the air and hit Steve in the head.

He sagged to the floor and felt the strength drain out of him.  His eyes slowly closed.

He was strapped in again.  How had they thought that would work after what had just happened he would just….

Wait.  They had him upside down.  Were they trying to torture him as well?  Didn’t they know what he was capable of, now?

A loud chirp.

They must be starting the machine again.

Another chirp.

Maybe they were trying to undo the change, but he wasn’t about to let that happen.

He wrestled against the straps and realized it was just a strap.

He opened his eyes.

The chirp again.

He realized that he was in the clothes he had just burst out of less than an hour ago.  But they felt completely normal.

The chirp again.

He rolled his head back and saw his phone laying in the roof of his crushed car.  Jonas number was flashing on the screen. The seatbelt was holding him in the seat.

He wrestled for a moment with the seatbelt and fell to the roof.  He grabbed the phone and answered it.

“Jonas!”

“Steve! Where are you man?  We’ve been looking for you for hours.”

“What?! I’m trapped inside my car.  I was in a wreck on highway 71.”

“Are you all right?  Should I call 911?”

“Yeah.  Can you meet me up here?  I’ll try to get to the highway so you can find me.  Something really weird happened and I need to tell you about it.”

An hour later, the paramedics were checking Steve out and offered to take him to the hospital.  He declined, saying he was fine.  They warned him about the dangers of concussion just as Jonas rolled up.

Jonas jumped out of the car and ran over to give him a rough hug.

“Woah, easy!  I’m pretty sore and banged up.”

“Where’s the car?”

“Down the hill, the tow company is trying to figure out how to get it out of there.  It looks like I had a blow out”

They walked down the hill a bit to see.

“Damn and you lived through that?”

Steve gave a cocky grin, “Still as handsome as ever.  Come on let’s get back.  I’ve got a story to tell you.”

They climbed into Jonas’ car and Steve relayed the story of 1958 to his friend.

“So, you had a dream while you were unconscious that some army dude did an experiment on you and turned you into the Hulk?”

“Yep”

“But obviously it was just a dream, though, cause your clothes look fine to me.”

“Yeah, kind of sucks, though because it felt pretty awesome.”

Jonas got quiet.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing”

“Oh my gosh, just like a girl ‘Nothing’” Steve rolled his eyes.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Well, you said ‘Nothing’ like you really meant ‘Something’ and I’d better damn well figure out what the ‘Something’ is or I’m in deep doo doo”

Jonas laughed in spite of himself. “Did you just say ‘doo doo’?”

“Yep. And I’ll say it again if you want.”

“Seriously, there is something really weird about your story.”

“What? You think I made that up?  Because I wouldn’t have had the part where…”

“I know you didn’t make it up.”

“How?”

“There really is an old army bunker down there and there was a Sergeant who got in a lot of trouble and they closed the place down.”

“Oh snap! Was his name Davis?”

“I can’t really remember.  It happened about 10 years before this highway was built.”

“When was Highway 71 built?”

“1969.  My Dad told me about it.  They needed a quicker route between Lake Ridge and Stoneville.”

Steve got quiet for a moment.

“Turn around”

“What?”

“Turn around.  Do you know where this army bunker is?”

“Yeah, but it’s gated off.  Government property.  No trespassing and all that.”

“If it’s true we need to find out”

Jonas turned the car around, “Well if you’re sure”

“I’m sure.  What if I’m really the hulk? That would be kind of awesome, wouldn’t it?”

Jonas shook his head and got quiet again.

“There you go with the quiet stuff.  I mean, I’m your best friend.  If you get in trouble I could just hulk out and help you.  Get a flat.  Quick hulk out and I can lift the car while you change the tire.”

“Stop joking”

“Dude, you are too serious.  Besides who wouldn’t want to be able to do that?”

There was another quiet pause.

“I know what it is.  You’re jealous.  You are upset because you want to be the hulk and it happened to me instead.”

“Nothing happened to you it was just a dream.”  Then under his breath he muttered, “I hope”

“Jealous”

“Shut up.  I’m driving back and we can take a look.  All right?”

They were quiet the rest of the way there.  Jonas pulled off the road as the tow truck was climbing up the hill with the ruins of Steve’s car on its back.

“That is going to suck.  The insurance won’t like that one bit”

Jonas sighed, “I can help you with rides and stuff.  We have the same classes and everything”

“Yeah, but what about dates?  You can’t go with me on my dates.”

Jonas glanced at the car, “Looks to me like you could use a chaperone”

“It was a blow out.  Not my fault. Let’s get down to this army place.”

They made their way down the slope.  Jonas took the lead when they got to the base of the hill.

“Jonas, how come you know where this is?”

“My dad was army, remember?”

“Yeah, but he wasn’t stationed here, was he?”

“For a short time, but something happened.”

“Did he get in trouble?”

“Not really.  Look I don’t want to talk about it, ok?  Let’s just check out your story and move on.”

“You are way too cheerful.  I need to find some friends who are a bit more serious, you know that?”

“Yeah, I know.  Smart ass”

Suddenly they stepped out of the woods and into a clearing.  In the middle was an old building like military buildings in the 1950s.  However it was surrounded by a high fence with barbed wire.  The fence was rusted through in places and looked like it hadn’t been touched in years.

Steve got really quiet and stared.

Jonas looked at him, “See that has been that way for a long time.  No one has been in there.  You said you walked right up to it in your dream.  How did you get through the fence?”

“It wasn’t here last night”

“Uh huh.  So have we proved that this was just a dream?”

Steve felt a bit strange.  “Not yet.  Let’s see if we can get into that building.”

“No.   I won’t trespass and get arrested.  I …”

Already Steve had found a rusted out hole in the fence big enough to pass through and he was trying to pull it apart so he wouldn’t get caught on anything.

“Stop it, Steve.  You can’t go in there.”

Steve was already through and walking up to the building.

Jonas sighed and pushed through the hole after his friend.

They walked up and saw a broken light over a door which was unlocked.  Steve pushed it open and they went inside.

A layer of dust covered everything.  There was a rotary phone on a desk.

“This was just like the dream last night.  I called the operator.  The sheriff told me I was trespassing and Sergeant Davis came through that door we just entered through.”

“But there was no fence”

“Yeah, but what if…”  Steve walked over to the phone and lifted the receiver.  There was no dial tone.

“Does it work?”

Steve shook his head.

“Can we get out of here, now?”

Steve acted like he didn’t hear him and went through another door.

“They put me on a gurney and pushed me through here, down this hall.  There was a calendar over a desk with the Sergeant’s retirement party.  That’s when I really thought something was wrong.”

The hallway they were in was empty of furniture and only shadows of wall hangings like ghosts of the past remained.

“They wheeled me down here and the machine was in this room”

He opened a door to the left.

“Holy shit”

“What?  Is the machine in there?”

“No.  It’s pretty much empty”

“Then what are we doing here?  Let’s forget the whole thing and head back. Ok?”

Steve turned on him, angry now. “Why are you so eager to leave?  I thought you were my friend and you cared about me.  I need to know what happened last night.  There was a reason for it and I don’t understand it.  Can’t you cut me some slack?”

“I do care about you!  I care enough to not see you get arrested and me along with you!  Some friend who drags someone else into their problems and then accuses them shit when they spend all night looking for them!  Asshole”

Steve pushed Jonas, “Fine, ass, I don’t want to ‘drag’ you into anything.  Go the hell back.  I can take care of myself.”

He stormed angrily into the empty room.

A few moments later, Jonas came into the room.

Steve didn’t even turn around to look at him, “Leave!”

“No…I …I do care about you.  I’m just frightened.  That’s all.”

Steve turned around ready to throw Jonas out.  When he saw the hurt look in his friend’s eyes his heart softened, “I’m sorry.  I’m tired.  I’m pissed about my car and I shouldn’t take it out on you.  You’ve really been there a lot for me.”

Steve walked over and threw his arm over Jonas shoulder.

Jonas nodded quietly then hugged his friend.

Steve sighed, then laughed.  “Maybe I should date you.  We fight enough.”

Jonas pulled away then looked around.  There were some wires hanging from the ceiling.  A few dead bugs on the floor. But no big machine.

“Ok, so what are we looking for?  I don’t see any machine that turns people into The Incredible Hulk, registered trademark, Marvel Enterprises.”

Steve laughed again, “What did you just say?”

“I’m trying to be less serious. What are we looking for?”

“I’m not sure really. I just want some proof.  This building is here.  The phone was out there.  Isn’t that an odd coincidence?”

“Yeah, but how do we prove that you were experimented on?”

“I don’t know.”

“There’s something I should tell you. “

“What?  Did you have a dream too?”

“No.  It’s just that, well, you may not like it.”

“What?”

“I kind of already believe you because, well, my dad….uhmmm….he was an MP here in the 1950s”

“No way. I know you’re a few years older than me but you’re too young to have a Dad who was in the military in the 1950s.”

“No.  He was 51 when I was born.  He always said I was an accident. He meant it as a joke, but it hurt sometimes.  He had surgery after I was born.”

“Wait, your Dad was an MP here?”

“Yes.  He wouldn’t talk about it because there was some kind of scandal, but one night after he passed away I found something.”

Steve moved closer to his friend, “What?”

“Bodybuilding was kind of a newer thing in the 50s.  Not real popular, but apparently my Dad was into it back then. He was still in pretty good shape when I was a kid.”

Steve stared at his rather skinny, nerdy friend, “Your Dad was a bodybuilder?”

“Yeah, I found an old medal he had won for a teen competition in the mid 1950s.  My mom was 10 years younger than my Dad, but he was military and in good shape. “

“So what does that have to do with my dream last night?”

“I asked my Mom about Dad being into bodybuilding because I always kind of admired big guys.”  He glanced shyly at Steve, who although not huge was very strong and athletic already.  Steve didn’t really notice.

“She told me that he had already done many things before he met her.  I asked about the military because I thought maybe I could be like him and gain some respect”

“Dude, you can come to the gym with me anytime and we can put some muscle on you if that’s what you want.  I like you just the way you are, though”

“Yeah, maybe” Jonas smiled shyly again, “Well anyway, Mom told me had been an MP because that way he could get the military to help pay for his bodybuilding and not have it interfere with his work.  He took the job here, but after this he had to get out.”

“What happened?  He had to be pretty young to get out that soon.”

“She met him several years after this, and at first he wouldn’t tell her anything about it.  Sometimes he would just tell her had to go out of town for work and leave and be gone for a month.  He would come home, but without much money.  Sometimes he would just disappear for the night.  She thought he had maybe started doing drugs or gambling or something.  Then one night he told her about a strange experiment.”

Steve began to look wary, “Did he talk about a machine?”

“Yes.  My Mom didn’t believe him at first.”

“How did he convince her?”

“Well, I’m getting to that.  He told her about seeing another guy he didn’t know change into a huge creature.  At first, being a bodybuilder, he thought that was amazing and he wanted to be able to do that.  However during the fight that ensued, he got trapped inside the machine with the other MP and it changed them too.  At least that is what he told my Mom.”

Steve winced thinking about this.

“He told her at first he thought it was amazing, but soon realized he couldn’t lead a normal life.  The change would come unexpectedly.   He would try to control it in like restaurants and at movies and things, but like sexual energy, it eventually needed release.  That was how he described it to her.

“My Mom, of course, became convinced that he was on drugs.  She didn’t believe a word.  He even pulled out his old uniform.  The one he was wearing when it first happened.  He showed her the shreds of cloth, but she claimed he was staging a sick fantasy.  He begged her to listen to him.  She shouted at him and started crying.  Then she told me he just turned around and pulled off his shirt and stepped out of his shorts.  He told her ‘I wanted you to believe me.  I don’t want you to think I’m a freak or a monster.  I don’t want you to be afraid of me.’  Then he shuddered.  She thought he had started crying, but he turned around and looked at her, his eyes had turned white and his skin had turned a darker color.  He said, ‘I love you’  in a much raspier voice and shuddered again. Then she watched him change.  Although he had taken the precaution of removing his clothes, he was still in his briefs, but this time he out grew those too.”

Steve looked dumbfounded, “Damn.  I didn’t think about all those complications.  How did he date?”

“I don’t know.  I do know my Mom became a believer that night.  She swore to help him keep his secret even from me until after he died.  It was because I found those briefs and that first uniform and showed them to her and asked.

“I thought she made up a story until I heard your story.  I really hoped you were wrong.”

“What?  You don’t want me to be the Hulk?  You don’t want your best friend to be the strongest college kid in the world?”

Jonas shook his head, “She told me about the other MP.  He and Dad both thought it was cool at first.  They would meet up so they could change together and keep their secret.  Dad soon realized the danger, like I told you, and he tried to warn Matt.  But Matt would not listen.   He started to have a harder time controlling the urges to change.  The military was eager to cover this up because of the scandal that would break out.  There were reports, mostly papers like the Enquirer, but still my Dad knew Matt was behind them.  Matt got in a fight in a bar one night and then reports of a huge green creature tearing up the place surfaced. A movie theater in Miami where a ticket wasn’t refunded. There was even a men’s room on the subway in New York. Apparently the stall didn’t have any paper.  New Yorker’s kind of blew the rumors off.”

“How did you know it was because of the toilet paper?”

“My Dad apparently found him and tried to warn him again.  He confessed to having a harder time with the control and enjoyed the release like a drug. They were at a sandwich shop and Matt started to call Dad names like wuss and pussy.  Said he was in complete control of the situation and didn’t need any help.  Dad told him to calm down, they were friends right?  Matt told him that a friend wouldn’t try to hold him back from what felt good.  Not just good, but awesome.  Even as he spoke the word, he smiled at my Dad and changed in the shop.  Clothes bursting apart.  People screaming and running. Dad sighed, then changed too to try to contain him, but Matt had become much stronger and bigger through the years.  As it progresses it gets larger apparently and takes more control away from you.  Dad wrestled him to the ground and they changed back. Then the police showed up and they were both arrested.  Two grown men wrestling naked in public didn’t go over well with them.

“The police put them in blankets and took them in.  Riding in the back of the car, my Dad was humiliated and embarrassed, but Matt was smiling the whole way. ‘They think they can lock us up’ was all he said.

“When they were booked, they were put into a holding cell in orange jumpers.  Five other men were in there. Dad called Mom to come post bail and offered to help Matt, who refused.  He just smiled and said, ‘Who needs bail?’ then the jump suit began to split and tear.  The other men in the cell panicked and called for the guards but by then it was too late. One of the men screamed out that Matt was a freak and as the last of the jump suit fell away, Matt picked the man up and slammed him against the bars of the cell, killing him.  Dad told him to stop but he was too far gone.  Matt sneered and continued to grow even larger.

“As the guards ran to the cell, Matt reached out and ripped the bars apart and pulled the cell door off its hinges and threw it at them. Two of the guards went down, but one rolled away unhurt.  As Matt lunged out of the cell, the guard opened fire and Matt fell to the ground.  Matt began to change back, blinking and my Dad ran to his side. Everyone stared at the incredible sight of this giant turning back into a man.  A man who should have been a father and husband, a professional bodybuilder maybe, but not a freak.

“Matt said he was sorry, but it was too late.  He died there in Dad’s arms.”

Jonas had tears running down his face, “I thought these stories were made up.  I wanted to believe it wasn’t true, that my Dad wasn’t a freak.  That his best friend didn’t commit murder and die in his arms.  I didn’t want to believe you because I don’t want you to be a freak.  You’re my best friend.”

Steve felt his own eyes grow moist.  He reached out and grabbed Jonas and hugged him like he would never let go.  They stayed together like that for what felt like hours.

Just reassuring that they would be there for each other.

“I’m sorry for all the hurtful things I said earlier” Steve confessed “I didn’t really mean them.”

“Thank you, I’m sorry too”

Steve pulled away and glanced around the empty room.

“I guess we’d better get back.  There isn’t anything here that can prove either of our stories and it may still be all just coincidence.”

“Wishful thinking, but I’m not so sure.”

Steve turned around to look at his friend who was staring at the ground like he was trying to figure out what to say. “What do you mean?”

“When we, uh, hugged just now I realized the problem my Dad had.”  He seemed to struggle for words again and Steve just waited a bit concerned.

“I inherited it.” As he said this, Jonas looked up at Steve who stumbled backwards in surprise.  Jonas voice dropped an octave and his eyes had turned white.

Jonas shuddered and his clothes appeared to grow tighter, “I felt it while we were hugging and I tried to fight it. Uhhhhhh”

His neck thickened and the collar began to split on his shirt.

“I’m frightened.  But it feels so….uhhh…..good.”

Steve’s jaw dropped as he saw Jonas biceps burst from his sleeves.  Veins were running up and down his body thick and full.  The hem of his pants rose up over his calves as he grew taller.  The calves thickened catching and splitting the hem.

His feet exploded from his sneakers and his shirt split apart in the middle exposing a chest like a keg with two watermelons mounted on the front.

His thighs burst the sides of his jeans so they hung like rags on him from a tightening waist band.

His stomach bulged like he had been doing HGH for years.

The waist of his jeans split and they fell to the ground.

His back widened out splitting the shirt from top to bottom.

Thick traps rose up like mountains around his neck.

Jonas was gasping and flexing like he was in a sexual frenzy.

His skin turned a deep green.

His eyebrows and jaw thickened with muscle as the transformation slowed.

“Damn, Jonas, you were worried about me.  But this whole time it was you! Son of a ….”

“Hulk…” Jonas finished in a deep growl.

He raised his left arm and smashed it through the cinder block wall dividing the room from the hallway.

Steve yelled, “Hey, stop before you bring the place down on top of us.”

Jonas gulped for air and flexed his fist again, “Feels good!”

“Yeah, but don’t kill us.  Maybe I don’t need to take you to the gym.  To be honest, I’m kind of jealous now.”

Jonas smiled, “You get flat, I lift car”

He raised his arms and flexed them mightily then dropped them.

“Hard to think…difficult…don’t like it.”

“I’ll trade places with ya, bro, in a heartbeat.”

Suddenly Jonas roared, “Nooooooo! Already too big….noooooo”

His voice deepened into a growl and he began to swell even larger.

A glow emanated from him as his bones cracked and grew larger and longer.  His already thick body grew even thicker.   Steve had to step back as Jonas grew up towards the ceiling and had to bend over to keep from pushing through.  He grunted and growled the whole way, unintelligible.

Then thick coarse hair grew up from his groin across his stomach and chest.  His arms and legs grew thick green hair as well.  Another loud grunt as ceiling debris rained down causing Steve to see Jonas face which had sprouted what looked like two days growth of beard.

Steve thought fast, “We must be too close to the original source we have to get you outside.”

Jonas just stared at him.

“Can you understand me?”

The creature stared and grunted but nodded.

Steve held his hand out and Jonas took it.  Steve noticed how strange and small his own hand looked in that of the giant green paw of his friend.

He stopped, “I don’t know how you will get through the door”

The creature raised an arm and smashed the wall even more where it had been hit earlier.

“Ok, that works too.  Let’s go.” And he led Jonas, hunched over, through the breach and into the hallway which had grown a bit too narrow.

“Turn sideways…sideways like this” and Steve demonstrated walking sideways down the hallway.

The creature grunted and tried to follow suit knocking down some ceiling tiles and putting another hole in the wall.

They inched their way down the hall into the front office.

Jonas punched out the wall around the doorframe and they went through.   Steve stopped for a moment and heard a gasp behind him.

He turned around.  Jonas appeared a bit smaller and the additional hair had receded.

Steve decided to check outside.  He opened the door and saw that it was night.  Very dark with no lighting around here, but perfect to hide a huge green creature.

He called back inside, “Hey, buddy, see if you can fit through that door without tearing it down.”

He waited, “Jonas come on we can get you out of here and get some…”

Jonas appeared in the doorway.  He was the same height as the door and filled it completely.  But no longer green.

Jonas gasped, “I’m …naked…still hard to think”

“I know, buddy.  It’s dark out and we can sneak you back to get some clothes that fit.”

Steve stripped off his sweatshirt and walked over to his friend. “Get out here so I can tie this around your waist”

Jonas struggled to squeeze through the door and had to turn sideways while his still massive chest nearly got stuck.  His powerful legs pushed in either direction.  He finally took his hands and in frustration pushed out on the door frame which groaned and bent outwards.

Steve reached around Jonas’ waist and tied the shirt so he had a little modesty in front.

“Thank…you.”  Jonas gasped and shuddered and shrank down some more.

Steve tightened the knot again to keep the shirt up over his front. Then he looked at Jonas, “Well that does something, but you, my friend, still have a big ass” He smiled.

“No…joke…don’t like”

“And you still have no sense of humor.”

He shuddered again.

Steve looked around, “Ok, I’m going to have to drive us home as soon as you can fit in the car.  Give me the…great the keys are back inside aren’t they?”

Jonas looked confused still obviously struggling with the change.

“Stay here and finish up de-hulking or whatever while I go get the keys.”

Steve dashed back through the doorway.

Jonas turned confused and started to follow.

Steve turned around.

“No stay….good boy….stay. I’ll be back.”

Jonas got a frightened look on his face and tried to follow again.

“I’m not leaving you.  Wait here.”

Jonas shook his head and growled. He shook his head again and his skin turned green.  He started swelling up again, “Don’t leave….me.”

Steve went back outside “Easy, don’t rip my sweatshirt or you’ll have nothing to wear.”  There was a popping sound and he saw the arms of the shirt stretch around the thickening waist.

He ran over to try to untie the knot before it ripped apart.  He could feel the muscles bulging and swelling then they slowed down.

Jonas bent down and reached around Steve.

He stopped trying to untie and just hugged Jonas back.

“Okay, buddy I will wait here with you until you get back to normal.”

They hugged awkwardly as Jonas was still much larger than Steve.  He slowly began to change back.  Steve found it easier to hold him close.

Jonas soon was only around 6 foot tall and, though, still very thick was breathing much easier.  He buried his head in Steve’s neck who sighed and hugged him tighter.

Steve felt wetness on his back and knew that Jonas was crying.  Steve was startled to realize his eyes were wet also.

Jonas was back to his normal 5’7” height but still, at Steve’s best guess around 230 pounds so they continued to hug and wait.

Soon Jonas sighed and said, “I’m ok now”

Steve held the hug a bit longer.  The bigger male holding the nerdy little geek.

“Ok, I have to go back and get your keys.  You need to wait here.”

“But I don’t like being alone out here.”

“Jonas, if you go back in you could change again.  It’s too close to the source.  It must still be in the building.  Just wait and I’ll be back.”

Jonas looked down and sighed, “Ok”

Steve darted into the now completely dark building and bumped into the desk.

“Ow, damn it.”

Jonas called from outside, “You ok in there?”

“I’m fine.  Just hang on I’ll be back.”

He groped through the dark and into the hallway.  He seemed to be able to see a little better here but still ran his hand along the wall.  It was kind of creepy.

His hand brushed down the cinder block and he kept expecting to encounter the broken wall where Jonas had smashed through.

Instead his hand found something smooth like paper.

He stopped.  There was a light coming from outside.  He took the paper thing off the wall and went to the window.  Must be a light on the fence that will help finding the keys.

He held the paper thing up and gasped, it was a calendar from 1958.

PART II

Steve was still staring at the calendar when a noise startled him.

Thinking it was Jonas coming back in, he turned around.

“Jonas I told you…..”

Instead he was facing a large MP with the name badge that read Saunders.

“You’re the punk that was here earlier.”

“I …I…just came back in to get the keys….so we could leave.”

“Leave?  After what you did to me?”

“What…what did I do to you?”

This guy was twice Steve’s size and now that he knew that it was Jonas who could hulk out and Jonas was outside somewhere waiting on him, Steve realized he might be in for some serious trouble.

“In the lab.  Last month.  I saw what happens to you.”

Steve’s mind was racing.

“You saw what happens to…what?”

The guard came closer.

“Don’t play dumb.  They closed this base down and no one is supposed to be here.”

“I’m…I know…I just…”

“You were supposed to finish your treatment, but I got it.  Me and my buddy, Jeff.  He’s on his way here now.  We meet here in secret and you know our secret.”

“What…what’s your first name?”

“What’s it to you?  What’s your first name?”

“Steve”

“Yeah, Steve well pleased to meet you.  My name’s Matt.  Matt Saunders.”

“Oh shit”

“I was so pissed at first, but then I found out what a great gift you gave to me and Jeff.  I think it’s only fitting that you wait here for him and join us so you can get your final treatment. “

“Didn’t they take the machine?”

Matt nodded.

“Then how?”

“Don’t worry little friend. I’m going to show you.”

There was a noise behind them and Steve turned to see a door that had only been rubble a few moments ago, fully intact and it opened.

Another large MP appeared but this one seemed younger than Steve and had an eager expression on his face.

Matt hollered, “Jeff.  You made it.  Thought I might have to go without you.  This here is Steve.  He’s the one responsible for our gift.”

Jeff froze and looked nervous, “Are you sure?  We can’t afford to let anyone else know our secret.”

Matt smiled, “Yes I’m sure.  We need to set him up for his final treatment to pay back the gift.”

“I’m not so sure about this now, Matt aren’t we getting a bit carried away?”

“Are you kidding?  Anyone would be grateful for what we have.  Isn’t that right, Steve.”

Steve sighed, he knew he really wanted it but he was also terrified of the story that Jonas had told him.

“There’s something you need to know first”

Matt rolled his eyes, “We’re running out of time, little man, I’m trying to hold back as it is.  I don’t need any ethics lectures at the moment.  Jeff, open the lab and start getting undressed.”

Jeff fumbled for keys and unlocked the door that Steve and Jonas had demolished only hours before and entered.

Matt looked at Steve.  “Listen.  I don’t want you pulling any tricks or screwing this up for us.  Understand? I’ve had my full dose and could smear your puny ass all over. Clear?”

Steve swallowed and nodded.  He was thinking even without the treatment Matt could have kicked his ass ten times over.

They went into the room.

The machine was gone.  In the far wall, however, Jeff had removed a brick from the wall.  He reached inside and pulled out a box.

Jeff had stripped to his briefs and carried the box over to a small table in the middle of the room.

He had a lustful look on his face as he handled the box.

Matt smiled, “Yeah, Jeff, you feel it too you can’t wait either.”

Jeff was well built and full.  It was obvious that Jonas wasn’t kidding when he said his Dad was a bodybuilder.

Steve tried to talk, “I’ve heard you won a competition.”

Jeff looked up, shook his head, and then smiled, “Yeah.  Last year, Teenage Mr. Lake Ridge.   First Place.  I was 19, but I’m 20 now so I have to compete with the men.”

Matt laughed, “And with this gift, buddy, you and I will be able to take on anyone”

Jeff shook his head, “But I can’t control it that well.  I can’t just change in front of everyone.”

“Soon we will have enough that we can control it.”

Steve found his courage, “No, Matt, you won’t .  You’re going to die.  You should listen to your friend.”

Matt turned on him.  “I told you to butt out. Ug…..”

Matt’s eyes turned white and his face glowed momentarily, then he smiled, “Guess this uniform is done too.”  With that, his already large frame began to swell and the top two buttons of his uniform shirt burst free and struck Steve in the face.

Matt turned to Jeff still smiling and struggled for words, “Get Steve his dose…..ugggh” His arms ripped through his sleeves, “So…he can join us”

A loud rending sound signified the back of his shirt splitting from the widening lats.

Jeff looked nervously at Matt for a moment then walked over to Steve.

He swallowed a couple of times, “Come on .  It really does feel good.”

Matt groaned and his legs burst through his pants, “Damn straight it does. Better than sex”

Steve tried to talk to Jeff, who walked him across the room, “Listen, I know things.  You need to get control now or you never will.  You will pass this on to your kids.”

Jeff seemed to ignore him.  He opened the box, and removed a tube of yellow paste.

“This was the essential part of the machine which was supposed to meter it out.  Matt got it out before they took the machine.”

Another grunt from Matt, “Shoes destroyed”

“But what…I’m not sure….I always wanted but I heard…..”

Jeff slowly uncapped the tube.  Steve couldn’t look away.  He was watching the tube when Jeff suddenly shook and dropped the cap.  He snickered.

“It really does feel good” and his voice dropped an octave.

Steve looked up and saw the now familiar white eyes and glowing face.  Jeff reached out and pulled Steve in close lifting the tube.

“Please..don’t do this…I”  Even as he spoke he felt Jeff changing against him.  The arm that held him thickened and veins were rising all along it.

Jeff shuddered but didn’t lose his grip.

“You’ll like it.” And forced the tube into Steve’s mouth and squeezed the contents out.

Steve nearly choked as the sticky substance filled his mouth and oozed down his throat.

Jeff shuddered and leaned in closer almost like he was going to kiss Steve, who pulled back.  He saw the traps rise up like mountains around Jeff’s neck.

A deep voice behind said, “About time” and a thick green hand pulled Steve free of Jeff who was now lost in the throes of his change.

Jeff suddenly grunted, “Damn…briefs too small”

He grimaced as his ass tore out the back and he gasped as his thickening legs broke the elastic bands around them.  Jeff smiled and ripped the waist band free as well.

He continued to grunt and swell until Matt said, “You been dosing!  You’re bigger than me now”

He threw Steve to the ground and flexed in Jeff’s face.  Jeff smiled and flexed back.

Steve crawled over to a corner and tried not to be sick from the oozy stuff he had just swallowed.  It was acting weird in his stomach.

The two behemoths started wrestling around and slamming each other against the walls and on the ground.

Neither one was as big as Jonas so they couldn’t do the damage he did, but they were still enormous enough to make Steve nervous laying there.

They knocked into the table and it fell over on top of Steve and another tube burst open against a wall and splattered the goo all over him.

“Damn!”  But his voice was much deeper.

The two monsters stopped and watched.

Matt grinned, “The little man has decided to join us”

Steve’s eyes rolled back in his head as he felt the same rush from the dream the other night.  He didn’t like them staring so he tried to roll over and turn away.  But as he moved his back widened out and they saw his t shirt split down the middle.

“Damn”

Then his butt pushed out against his jeans and they began to tear as well.

He braced his hands against the wall to push to his feet and his thighs broke out the sides. He snarled and grunted.

Behind him Jeff said, “Let it out…let it out…. Oh man I’m getting another one.”

Steve turned around to face him as his own shoulders pushed the sleeves apart.

Jeff rolled his eyes and even Matt stared in amazement as Jeff shuddered and grew even larger.  Just like Jonas he grew hairy and his brows and jaw thickened.

Then Steve was brought back to himself as his own changes continued. His chest grew outwards and broke free of the t shirt, his arms swelled up like cannon balls and he groaned yielding to the ecstasy of the transformation.

Jeff continued to grow and grunt no longer even speaking.

Matt hollered at him. “How much did you take?”

Jeff just snarled then punched Matt hard.

Steve groaned, “Tried to warn you.”

Matt snarled and hit Steve in the head and Steve blacked out.

When he woke, it was dark and he was lying on the floor of the empty room.

He reached out and his hand felt something metallic. It was the keys.  He grabbed them and stood.  He looked around quickly for Matt and Jeff.  Nothing, not a sound.  He couldn’t see very well so they could be hiding in the dark.  That’s when he realized he was fully clothed.  His t shirt was still intact and his jeans.

What the hell was going on?

He cautiously made his way in the dark back to the front room and outside.

Jonas was asleep on the grass.

Steve went over to wake him. “Hey…hey”

Jonas rolled over and looked at him, “What..what took so long.  Sorry I was so tired.”

“I met your Dad”

The end......?

That was a cool story! I loved the Hulk TV show and comic book character as well. I was just planning to attend a Comic-Con convention as well in the near future, so I love stories like this which are based on superheroes. I'm an author of my own superhero novel so I'm always looking for stuff like this.
