  1. This really resonates with me. I've went through a somewhat similar situation, except that we were living together. I knew it wasn't going to last when he proposed and I didn't even have to think about saying 'no'. Of course 6-7 years of being largely enveloped by an expanding emotional void of unreleased affection, and I end up occasionally thinking of trying to go back because having someone is better than having no one. But that's not true, as when the only common interests two people share are Star Trek, RuPaul's Drag Race, and fisting, the probability of ever having a successful relationship is slim.
  2. I still get anxiety in the gym after 12+ years. I find going at quiet times helps. Training with a buddy I find works best at curbing the anxiety, since then I'm spotting in between my sets and there's no time to let my mind wander on my insecurities.
