NEWS: Discord Server & Clubs (aka Groups) are back!   08/19/17

Hello everyone I'm back with a couple big updates! Firstly we now have a Discord server, this is a real-time chat messaging client you can run on your phone, desktop, or anywhere. It's a pretty powerful desktop application that enables people to chat together, and with multiple channels you can find people interested in what you're interested in. If you don't already have a Discord account it's pretty easy to get one, just click the following invite link to get started: https://discord.gg/U93PYnB Secondly I'm proud to announce the return of Groups, it's been renamed to Clubs and is now available here: https://muscle-growth.org/clubs/. This system is entirely user generated and allows users to create groups of their own based on any subject they want. Go ahead and try it now, visit the link above to get started if you want to create or join a group!   As always thank you to all of our donators and Patreon contributors who keep the forums going!

  1. When did you start lifting?

Definitely been an on/off thing for me - started when I was 13 with my best friend, and stuck with it through early college, but was never really 'serious' - just something to do, and never really got results (whereas my best friend seemed to grow muscle in his sleep). Let myself get really out of shape through my 20s and early 30s. Had a nasty couple of car accidents, and during the recovery from the 3rd one in my late 30s, my Chiropractor said to me 'you know, if you were in better shape, you wouldn't be in such pain, because having some muscle mass would have protected you'. That was a revelation, and at 37, I got back in the gym, and I've been pretty consistent ever since. Some other injuries have kept me from making good progress lately, but now, at nearly 60, I get regular compliments about how fit I look. Something I never had anyone say to me when I was in my 20s or 30s. Gonna be interesting to see what I can build in my 60s. Looking forward to it too!
  2. Mr. Olympia Weekend

One day I've got to make it out there for this. And separately, the Arnold.
  3. Thanks for following mr.

You're welcome!  I like what you've got going on!

  4. MEAT

So I think the real challenge here is determining what parts of this story are purely autobiographical, and what parts are possibly not. fantastic bit of writing BP, thank you!
  5. Naked (Part One)

    Hottest. Chapter. Yet. Thank you.
  6. Teeth

While there are 'whitening' tooth-pastes available, generally I've found that they are good for maintaining already white teeth, but they really can't accomplish much with teeth that are already stained from coffee/tobacco etc., I've had my teeth professionally whitened by my dentist, and the effect is immediate and long lasting - I'm just now getting ready to have them done again, and it's been about 12 years since my first treatment.
  7. Fuller Biceps?

Proper form with the bicep exercises has a lot to do with it as well - full extensions (i.e., straightening the arm completely) will stimulate growth down towards the elbow, short small movements restrict growth to the center/peak of the bicep. Be aware that the weight you move will likely go down considerably when you start doing this, and care must be taken to warm up the tendons/ligaments, etc...
  8. Freeletics

I would agree with your assessment that it's really just a fitness/cardio thing - just looking at the magazines the program has appeared in tells you all you need to know!
  9. Can the bodybuilding contest be changed?

I agree - while the whole humongous cock thing is a fun fantasy, I've long believed that bodybuilding competitions should be nude. In my opinion, the posing trunks are more of a distraction than anything else, and often cover what really needs to be shown off - amazing glutes!
  10. Just signed up. Thanks for all you do C!

  12. Training and Christmas Day!

Call it a 'cheat day' and you're good! Just don't have another cheat day in the same week.
  13. 5 months in

A few snaps of my progress after 5 months of training. The next 2-3 months should be good now that I'm in a regular training schedule
  14. Just put up a new gallery album of my 4 month progress. It's not as much as I'd hoped for, but I think it's something, especially for an old guy. I definitely want to hear what you guys think, good, bad or ugly!

You are an old guy?! I beg your pardon.

Hey! 'Old' is only for when your body is cold and lying in a wooden casket. Or when your mind stop living and learning. Check out Jocaflo's post here to understand what I mean:

  15. 4 months in

A little bit of progress, not happening as quickly as I'd like, but it is happening.
